Easy Grilled Lobster Tails with Herb Butter Recipe 0
We celebrated the end of summer with a smorgasbord of our faves on the grill! We're not introducing toddler boss to shellfish until she turns two, so this special treat was just for guests old enough to spell l-o-b-s-t-e-r. Surprisingly, she didn't seem to mind at all...surprisingly.The secret is all in the butter and I adapted this easy recipe by Patrick & Gina Neely via FoodNetwork.com. Note: I've also tried this recipe indoors under the broiler and the results are just as good, if not a tad bit better. RECOMMENDED AGES: 2+. Dear Summer 2014, Today marks the official end of our fabulous time together, so Toddler Boss, The Mr. and I are celebrating with a countdown of our top twelve "Grantastic" adventures with you! Most were in or around the DC area, with the exception of two trips to NYC, when we fell in love with Battery Park City as a great family-friendly hangout. It was so hard to number them in any sort of order that gave them all justice (and that we all agreed on), so we've decided to just list them chronologically and keep everyone happy:-)....- Riche Holmes Grant

Smart + Stylish Mom Spotlight: You are Your Child's Best Advocate 0
Today’s smart + stylish mom is Christine Pak, a 33-year old artist, stay-at-home mom and aspiring med school student who lives in the Washington, DC suburbs with her husband and 2-year old daughter, Sophie. I met Christine and Sophie in a music class that Riley and I attended in the spring of 2014. Sidenote: this was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend Mrs.Sings’s MusicArt in Crofton, MD. I’ll never forget how nervous I was during the first day of class. At 16 months, Riley was the youngest student in a class designed for 18-month to...- Riche Holmes Grant

Inside our Mommy & Me Balcony Garden 1
Let me just start by saying that I have no doubt at all that the only reason we still have a garden that is alive and well nearly six weeks in is that Riley is in complete control of the process…thank God. After we averted a near disaster in the first few days after planting (see below), I figured that it was best for me to take a step back and let her and her cute little green thumb lead the way. We began our adventure with scouting trips to Lowe’s, Home Depot and our local hardware store (Strosniders) to get...- Riche Holmes Grant
